A ramble through Pelham & Lincoln

Planning a trip to Niagara? Most visitors head straight for Niagara Falls, and with good reason. The falls offer world-class amenities, restaurants, casinos, arcades, impressive views and Hornblower boat rides. But Niagara is much more than the falls.

If you want charming, off-the-beaten-path experiences, explore the counties of Pelham and Lincoln. There you’ll find picturesque views of rolling hills and farmlands, locally grown produce and flower stands, tucked-away wineries, and cozy bakeries, all perfect for slow, memorable days of discovery.

Bob's Boys Antiques and Collectibles, Ridgeville

302 Canborough Road, Ridgeville, ON, L0S 1E5

A day trip to Pelham and Lincoln felt like a treasure hunt. We followed a map of antique shops and hidden barns and found a couple of new favourite places along the way.

If you’re going to Fonthill or passing through, consider a short detour to Ridgeville for Bob’s Boys Antiques and Collectibles, I ended up getting a lovely brooch from there. Another, larger stop is Prudhomme’s Antique and Vintage Market in Vineland. Prudhomme’s includes several outbuildings to browse and is dog friendly.

Neither place is highly curated, both suit shoppers who enjoy digging through unassuming spaces for unexpected finds.

Looking for a more local, memorable stop for food and shopping? Try DeVries Fruit Farm Market & Garden Centre in Fenwick and Grand Oak Culinary Market in Vineland.

While driving through Fenwick we spotted a sign for DeVries and stopped, what a find. The market and garden centre is beautifully laid out and packed with locally made baked goods, fresh produce and more. The strawberry and blueberry muffins are especially good.

Grand Oak Culinary Market in Vineland is another gem. It features an in-store bakery, lunch service and catering, and sits just off the Queen Elizabeth Way, making it an easy stop no matter which way you’re headed.

Note: check their websites for current hours before you go.
